Lexington, Ky – May 11, 2023 – The lights that cascade over the famous Rolex Stadium at the Kentucky Horse Park made their mark tonight for the first night class of the 2023 Kentucky Spring Horse Show, inviting exhibitors and fans to experience the exhilaration that is the sport of show jumping. Of the 54 entries in the $37,000 Kentucky Spring Classic 1.45m CSI3*, nine combinations managed to weave through the first round unscathed, and Canada’s Ali Ramsay and Bonita VH Keizershof Z were named victorious at the completion of the jump-off.

Tim Goguen Continues to Take Leadership in the Hunters at the Kentucky Horse Shows Spring Classic With His $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby Win
Lexington, Ky – May 19, 2023 – Clouds hovered over the StoneLea Ring during the final USHJA National Hunter Derby of the Kentucky Horse Show Spring series, wafting the crisp, spring air through the 10-jump course. Horses and riders walked intentional course familiarizations prior to the start of the prestigious hunter class, in which 20 combinations would be competing. After traveling through the thoroughly embellished jumps inspired by the Bluegrass state’s woodsy environment, followed by a second round of showing off technical skill, Tim Goguen and Calisto were named the Kentucky Horse Show Spring Classic’s national derby champion.

Driscoll Does It Again by Maintaining Her $38,700 Welcome Speed 1.45m CSI3* Top Spot at the Kentucky Horse Shows Spring Series
Lexington, Ky – May 17, 2023 – International competition is back in full swing in the Bluegrass state today at the Kentucky Horse Shows (KHS) Spring Classic, and the $38,700 Welcome Speed 1.45m CSI3* certainly made an exciting start to the week. The perfectly manicured Rolex Stadium at the Kentucky Horse Park presented combinations of horses and riders the opportunity to vie for a ranking win in the showjumping realm, and the blazing sun cast shadows over the fences that made the test all the more difficult. After seeing 11 clear rounds soar successfully over the obstacles, Cathleen Driscoll (USA) has proved to her KHS competitors yet again that she is a tough one to beat.

Equitation Competition Ramps Up at The Kentucky Spring Horse Show with Winners Named in the Prestigious Adult and Junior Medal Classes
Lexington, Ky – May 15, 2023 – The Kentucky Spring Horse Show is held in high regards for hosting top competitions in all three jumper rings; however, today’s schedule emphasized the skill and poise of the equitation discipline specifically, with multiple arenas around the Kentucky Horse Park inviting riders to challenge themselves with the technical courses.
Designed by Kevin Holowack and Jason Shelley, the courses for the NHSAA/ASPCA Maclay, the Ariat National Adult Medal, the Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS)/National Horse Show (NHS) Adult Medal and the Hamel Foundation NHS 3’3” Medal featured long approaches, one-stride combinations, tight rollbacks and bending lines. From the combined total of 47 horse and rider combinations entered, it was Lily Walton, Hailey Guidry and Noah Nelson that gave the best performances in the Claiborne and Annex Rings on Friday, May 12.

It Paid Lauren Balcomb to Ride First, Winning the $145,100 Mary Rena Murphy Grand Prix CSI3* at The Kentucky Horse Shows Spring Classic
Lexington, Ky – May 20, 2023 – As the Kentucky Horse Shows (KHS) Spring Series neared the finish line, fans, enthusiasts and athletes gathered around the famous Rolex Stadium at the Kentucky Horse Park to watch one more international show jumping Grand Prix. Out of 34 horse-and-rider combinations, only one was fortunate enough to take home the coveted title: with an unbeatable jump-off time of 35.680 seconds, Lauren Balcomb (AUS) and Verdini d’Houtveld Z wowed the crowds and stood tall on the $145,000 Mary Rena Murphy Grand Prix CSI3* podium.

A Tough Course Made for a One-Round U25 Grand Prix at the Kentucky Spring Horse Show With Daisy Farish and Orwell SCF Making the Only Fault-Free Round
Lexington, Ky – May 14, 2023 – After a full week of lively competition, the first half of the Kentucky Spring Horse Show nears a close with the pinning of the $15,000 Under 25 Grand Prix in the Rolex Stadium. Only one round showcased the sport of show jumping’s greatest, young talent, but only Daisy Farish and Orwell SCF were prosperous enough to finish the day on a fault-free round, despite 15 other horse and rider combinations making equally valiant efforts. Sabrina Lefebvre and RF Most Wanted were right on her tail coming into second place, and Tanimara Maria Macari Carillo and Feminka joined the two on the podium in third.

Jean Sheptoff and Mia Frigon on Putting the Horses First
Wellington, Fla – April 26, 2023 – Jean Sheptoff is a nationally recognized amateur hunter and jumper rider based out of Littleton, Massachusetts. She manages Newbury Farm alongside her husband and trainer, Cory Hardy, while competing in the amateur/owner hunter, amateur/owner high jumper, and Grand Prix jumper divisions around the United States.
Growing up, she rode with the highly regarded trainer Timmy Kees, who successfully brought her to competitions such as the USEF Medal Finals, the USET East Coast Medal Finals, and the Maclay Regionals. In the winter, you can find her taking care of the horses at her winter farm in Wellington, Florida, while also competing at the Wellington International Winter Equestrian Festival.
